Artsy Blogging Links for April 20, 2013

Greetings! As I write this, it is snowing. Yes. Snowing.

Is it really the middle of April? Someone should tell Mother Nature. Here’s the view out of my window today:

I was thinking this week about our busy lives. The way we work so hard and fail to take time and “just be.” I don’t do this enough. Do you? In fact, when I have some time I have a hard time just doing nothing without feeling guilty. I really don’t know how to relax sometimes.

I think it comes from my background and my current job, but it’s more than that. To me, this busy schedule we all keep is dangerous to our health. It has been for me certainly. I’ve had to cut back and try to balance things out a little bit better.

Yesterday, for example, I got a call from a friend for am impromptu lunch. Normally, I would have turned her down for fear that I would get too far behind with work. Instead, I went and it filled my soul so much that I was able to finish work and still have energy left over. That was a lesson for me.

Have you experienced the same thing?

I bring this up today because one way we can balance our lives is with creativity. Don’t you all just feel like you could lose hours and hours creating sometimes? Well don’t think of them as “lost.” In fact, those could be the hours that fuel your soul your weeks. Take them! Use them! These artsy blogging links should help inspire you to do that.
