In this hurried world of ours, we need some peace. We need to re-connect with our spirits and use that as a place to center ourselves. I’ve found that doing art gives me a sense of balance and brings me back to my relationship with God.
I also find that reconnection when I read the Psalms, which are filled with a variety of emotions from praise to anguish to celebration. The Psalms provide a place that makes me feel it is okay to feel whatever you feel, because God will be there, helping you through it, even when you don’t realize it or feel him there.
Wouldn’t it be great to just hang out together, do some fun art, and allow our spirits to open up to the power of the Psalms?
I’ve combined all this into a weekly video podcast called, “Painting the Psalms.”
Each week, I’ll send you a half hour video where I’ll paint a mixed media picture centered on the Psalms. Maybe the picture will reflect the sentiment that the Psalms embody. Maybe the picture will contain words from a particular Psalm. Each picture has a personality of its own and will be different.
As I paint, I talk. It’s a nice way to “connect” with you even though we aren’t in the same room. You can paint along with me or just relax and watch the video. Maybe my painting will inspire you or give you ideas for your own artwork. Maybe it will help you reflect on your blessings or the struggles you’re having with faith.
My conversation is about the creative process and that in and of itself is a blessing, but make no mistake, this video isn’t about preaching. It’s just about appreciating the Psalms and whatever thoughts and emotions they call up.
That’s four half hour videos for just $7.99 each month.
Even better? Sign up for a year and I’ll give you two months free. That’s 24 hours of painting and conversation for under $80.
Will you join me? Paint with me?
Just $7.99 for two hours of conversation and painting time every month. Two hours a month to connect with your spirit and creativity. This is something you do for yourself, on your schedule and in your own time and pace.
I’ll email you a video weekly on Fridays and you can watch it right then or keep it until you have time. Watch when you need some encouragement or time away from kids and jobs and life… and just need something to do for yourself.
